The PM system has the objective of managing all projects according to the company's selected method, serving as a central repository for all relevant information.

The PM system promises the company management fulfilment of client contracts, control over resources across projects, management of suppliers and partners, a qualitative level of service and expected performance.

The principal role of the PM system is to supply information to the corporate accounting function by attaching costs to the plan, and by producing budgets, cost centre and revenue analysis and evaluations of operational control.
