Project Management's Situation

Currently the very large majority of companies are organised on a functions based tree, which fixes hierarchies and skills. Few are the firms who structure themselves totally on resource suppliers (the pool) and the projects to which they are attached.

There are some mixed configurations, in which within a functional tree entire departments or sectors of the company are structured on pools and projects.
